ABOUT MEArtist BioI grew up making art in a creative household. My mother is an art teacher and watercolor painter, specializing in portraiture. My sister and I would spend hours drawing and creating art in any medium that was available to us. As a teenager I assisted my mother in art classes taught in her studio. I discovered my love for clay when in college and graduated from Alfred University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a minor in Art History. Upon graduation I worked for ceramic artist, Tinka Jordy in North Carolina. My love for teaching has continued through the years as I have found various private schools, studios, museum programs and alternative educational opportunities to work with children and teach adults as well. I currently work at Riverbottom Pottery (in Harrisburg, PA) a working ceramic studio, teaching facility, ceramic supply store and gallery.

PORTFOLIORecent ProjectsMy current body of work is comprised of items for everyday use and liturgical pieces made to be used in worship settings. I enjoy engineering forms to work well in their intended use and also utilize various surface treatments that are aesthetically pleasing.
Mosaic: Better Together I recently created a mosaic on site for a conference of the United Methodist Church. Their theme, "Better Together" was based on the image of a mosaic. I worked on the mosaic for the opening conference and it was complete for the closing worship. As I was in the process of making it people could stop by to see the progress. Below is a video that was created for the conference to tie in this metaphor. |
