Ceramic pieces for liturgical use is one of my favorite venues. I grew up in the church and my husband has been in ministry in the United Methodist Church for more than twelve years. Knowing and participating in the use of these objects has helped me create pieces that are designed for their use whether it be a pitcher that keeps baptismal water warm until the moment it is splashed on a the crown of a baby’s head, a beautiful jar that holds and dispenses ashes between Palm Sunday and Ash Wednesday or a chalice that is balanced and comfortable to hold when serving communion.
